Tobin and Munoz were retained by a limousine company DT&C, L.L.C. to represent it on a remand from the Illinois Appellate Court where a prior jury awarded the plaintiff only $47,000 dollars under a theory of unjust enrichment when the defendant Crown Cars Limited unjustly obtained the intangible assets of one of the most successful limousine companies in the Chicagoland region. The owner of DT&C, L.L.C. became ill and made a decision to sell his company. He believed that he had reached an agreement with Crown’ Crown continually asked for materials including customer lists to go forward with the transaction. After Crown had obtained all of the intangible assets, it backed out from going through with the sale. The Appellate Court ordered the case retried for damages only. Craig D. Tobin and Matthew Lauderdale of Tobin and Munoz were able to bring justice to John Jansen and DT&C limousine company by obtaining a jury verdict of $1.5 million dollars for their client.
